Alright, weâ€™ll spare you the clichÃ©s. Nobody wants to hear about how all of the sudden the warm, summer weather has crept up on you and its time to whip out the â€œitsy-bitsy, teeny-weenieâ€ bikinis. But whether you plan to spend time around the pool, out in the garden, or driving kids to camp, thereâ€™s no doubt that the heat is about to hit and the layers of clothing will need to come off! When clothing layers come off, other layers come out. And by other layers, we are referring to that extra squishy one some of us have after a long winter.Â It does its job keeping us warm all winter but come summer, we donâ€™t have use for it! Losing weight is a challenge – a huge challenge (no pun intended). And we all know it because weâ€™ve all tried it. Crash diets neverÂ work. The weight always comes back with a vengance and thereâ€™s a vicious cycle of dieting and caving that never works out right. There are so many components to weight loss and weâ€™re sure youâ€™ve heard the saying â€œabs are made in the kitchen, not in the gymâ€.
That being said, dieting is not the only key to success. When you workout, you feel the burn. You feel the calories melting away and you feel the muscles breaking down and growing back stronger than before. Thereâ€™s something magical about working out (besides the scientifically proven fact that your body produces anti-stress hormones during exercise that actually lift your mood and help you think more clearly and positively). It gives you a sense of accomplishment and boosts your self-esteem when you finish. This small post is not going to coach you on how to have a complete lifestyle change (that is something that WeTrain personal trainers can help you with if you are interested) but we are going to suggest that you work in a small workout at least three times a week. You are going to build muscle and increase your resting metabolic rate so that you burn more calories all day long!
